Dear Southern Region Members,
The theme of this administration is “Strengthening the Link Between Clubs and Southern
Region.” I hope that you will help to fulfill this goal by attending the upcoming GFWC Southern
Region Annual Meeting in Augusta, Georgia October 26 – 28, 2012. The GFWC Georgia
Clubwomen have an exciting weekend planned for us.
I am sure we will enjoy interacting with our GFWC International President Mary Ellen
Laister, GFWC President-elect Babs Condon and Southern Region’s own GFWC Secretary
Marian St. Clair.
We are excited about going on a glass enclosed boat cruise down the Savannah River.
The boat conveniently docks behind our hotel. This cruise is scheduled for Friday morning and
includes lunch.
The attire for the Friday night banquet will be after five/cocktail. The speaker for the evening
will be GFWC International President Mary Ellen Laister. Don’t forget to pack your PJ’s to wear
to the Region Pajama Party and bring a pair of adult’s or child’s PJs for a domestic abuse
shelter.
Saturday will be an information packed day with interesting workshops on pertinent topics.
Since Augusta is the home of the Golfing Nationals, you don’t want to miss “Puttin’ on the
Green” Saturday night at the State Night Banquet. The dress will be casual/sporty.
